Roll-off dumpster rental in Denver
Downtown Denver is approx. 5 road miles from the yard, around 13 minutes.
Downtown Denver is approx. 5 road miles east of the yard, around 13 minutes — same-day or next-day, depending on availability; call early in the day for the best chance of same-day. Denver is a consolidated city and county of 715,522 at the 2020 Census.
On the west side we deliver to the neighborhoods the City's own area plans name: West Colfax, Villa Park, Barnum, Barnum West, Sun Valley and Valverde (West Area Plan); Athmar Park, Ruby Hill, Overland, Mar Lee and Westwood (Southwest Area Plan); and Bear Valley, College View, Fort Logan, Harvey Park, Harvey Park South and Marston (Far Southwest Area Plan). Denver Solid Waste Management collects from houses and buildings of seven units or fewer, but its large-item pickup comes every nine weeks and takes no construction materials — that is roll-off work.
Local knowledge
Getting our bearings in Denver
Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.
- Large-item pickup — every nine weeks, up to 5 large items and 10 bags, and no construction materials (concrete, bricks, fencing, pallets), appliances, stumps, dirt or sod. Setting items out at other times counts as illegal dumping.
- Big branches — the City says residents are responsible for removing tree stumps and branches over 4 inches across or 4 feet long.
- Bigger buildings go private — the City says its Solid Waste Management does not serve multifamily, nonresidential or commercial buildings, and owners of premises outside City collection must arrange private collection (DRMC §48-42(c)).
- Far Southwest — the City's plan describes a high share of single-unit homes on large lots with no alleys.
- Household hazardous waste — Denver residents get one at-your-door collection appointment a year with a $15 co-payment; asbestos, including old linoleum tiles, is not accepted.

What comes out of west Denver properties
Roofs in 10s and 20s, kitchens and baths in 20s, multi-room remodels and estate clean-outs in 30s, demolition and new construction in 30s and 40s, and a 10 or 15 for concrete, brick and dirt — weight restrictions keep heavy loads in the smaller boxes. Since 1 September 2026, Denver's Universal Recycling and Composting Ordinance (URCO) requires qualifying projects — new buildings, additions and demolitions over 500 square feet and renovations or tenant finishes over 2,500 square feet — to divert at least 50 percent of construction and demolition debris by weight, recycling at least three covered materials, and to upload weight tickets to Green Halo to get the deposit back. Trade-only permits such as roofing are exempt. Tell us when the job is a URCO project and ask us for the weight tickets.
Colorado bans waste electronics (C.R.S. 25-17-303), lead-acid batteries (C.R.S. 30-20-1002) and used oil (C.R.S. 30-20-1005) from landfills, waste tires go only to tire recyclers (C.R.S. 30-20-1414), and fridges and A/C units need the refrigerant recovered first (40 CFR 82.155). No paint, solvents, fuel, hazardous chemicals, propane tanks or asbestos.

| 30 Yard Dumpster | about 22 ft long × 7.5 ft wide × 6 ft high | about 9 pickup truck loads | 4–5 tons | Multi-room and full-home renovations, estate and move-out cleanouts, office and retail remodels, light demolition and construction debris, and community or property cleanups. |
| 40 Yard Dumpster | about 22 ft long × 7.5 ft wide × 8 ft high | about 12 pickup truck loads | 5–6 tons | Construction and demolition projects, commercial renovations, full-home remodels, warehouse and office cleanouts, commercial roofing jobs and large community or property cleanups. |
Permits, placement and who may haul in Denver
Who may haul — the rule that matters: DRMC §48-62 makes it unlawful to transport solid waste from within the city without a solid waste hauler licence, other than someone hauling waste they generated themselves. The City's licensing page says solid waste includes recyclables, organics, junk, construction and demolition debris and other bulky materials, and hauling without a licence can mean fines up to $999. Haulers must label containers with their name and phone number on the street-facing side (§48-63) and keep disposal receipts for at least a year (§48-64). We found no exclusive roll-off franchise. We're licensed and insured.
In the street: the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) says all containers — dumpsters, roll-offs and other containers — need a permit, that the permit is only obtained by the container company, and that the company needs a ROW Dumpster License number. A one-time residential street placement is $125 for the first 5 days, then $4.50 a day; allow 5 business days for processing. The container goes in the parking lane at least 20 feet from any corner, alley or entrance, never on a sidewalk, tree lawn, travel lane, no-parking zone or alley, with up to 2 containers in 40 feet of parking lane and a maximum of 180 days in 12 months.
On your driveway: a driveway or job site skips the street permit, and our crew confirms the spot with you at drop-off.
Knocking something down: Colorado requires an inspection by a Colorado-certified asbestos inspector and a CDPHE demolition notice ten working days before any demolition starts, homes included, even if no asbestos is found (AQCC Regulation 8). A Denver demolition over 500 square feet applied for on or after 1 September 2026 also falls under URCO's 50 percent diversion rule. Asbestos never goes in our containers — tell us if the survey finds any.
Summarized from the city's published code and web pages as read in October 2026. Codes change — confirm with the department listed before you rely on it.
How it works
Booking a dumpster in Denver
Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.
- 1
Call and tell us the job
One short conversation. We ask the location, what you are clearing — a cleanout, a renovation, a roof, a yard, a job site — roughly how much there is, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us.
- 2
We size it and quote it flat
You get one number that covers delivery, pickup, disposal, the standard rental period and an included weight allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.
- 3
Delivered where you want it
The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site where you asked, on a hard surface rather than the lawn. Often same-day or next-day, depending on availability. You do not need to be home.
- 4
Load it on your schedule
Keep it below the top edge and keep the banned items out — paint and solvents, chemicals, oil and fuel, batteries, tires, propane tanks and gas cylinders, medical waste, asbestos, and TVs, computers and other electronics. Need more time or a swap mid-job? One call.
- 5
We haul it and dispose of it right
The load is covered or secured and goes to an approved facility, with metal, concrete, cardboard and yard debris recycled through local Colorado facilities whenever possible. You get your driveway back the way you left it.

Local answers
Dumpster rental in Denver — common questions
Do you deliver in Denver?
Yes, across west Denver, from West Colfax, Barnum and Villa Park to Westwood, Harvey Park, Bear Valley and Marston. Downtown is approx. 5 road miles from the yard. Call (720) 370-8548 early in the day for the best chance of same-day.
Can I get the Denver street permit myself?
No. Denver says the permit for containers in the right-of-way is only obtained by the container company. A one-time residential placement is $125 for the first 5 days, then $4.50 a day.
Will Denver large-item pickup take my remodel debris?
No. Large-item pickup comes every nine weeks, takes up to 5 large items and 10 bags, and does not take construction materials such as concrete, bricks, fencing or pallets.
Do I need weight tickets for a Denver job?
On a qualifying URCO project — new buildings, additions or demolitions over 500 square feet, or renovations over 2,500 square feet, applied for on or after 1 September 2026 — yes. The contractor uploads weight tickets to Green Halo. Ask us for them when you book.
Does Denver need a hauler licence for construction debris?
Yes. Denver requires a solid waste hauler licence to transport solid waste from within the city (DRMC 48-62), and the City says that includes construction and demolition debris.
